Announcing New Executive Director for Empower Leadership Academy for Girls

Empower Leadership Academy for Girls is pleased to announce the appointment of Christine Strak as its executive director. Christine will provide oversight and management to move the organization forward, including building and expanding community partnerships across Minnesota and beyond, in support of leadership development in girls and young women.

Empower is a 501(c)(3) founded in 2014 by Pam Borton, former leader of the Minnesota Gophers women’s basketball program. “I am excited to welcome Christine to Empower Leadership Academy for Girls,” said Pam. “She is the right leader to help take the organization to the next level.” Empower has served more than 500 girls in grades 5-12 since its launch, and it plans to double that number in the coming year through its unique Full- and Half-Day Leadership Academies , as well as one-on-one leadership training for collegiate sports teams.

Christine comes to Empower with an extensive background in organizational leadership and business operations. She most recently founded the organization AdminBrandingBox Management, which is an association and small business management organization with offices in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She has held a number of sales and business operations roles in finance and health care organizations. Additionally, Christine brings extensive nonprofit and board experience to her new role with Empower.

Christine also has a personal passion for mentoring young women and helping them achieve their goals. “I am thrilled to be joining Empower as the new executive director. I am eager to put my business and nonprofit skills to work to help empower today’s young leaders to build the skills they need to take on and succeed in whatever they imagine for themselves,” Christine said.
